My brother in law decided he wanted to build a bed for my nephew. When he asked for some assistance in the led and plexiglass area, I of course couldn't say no. We ended up using close to a hundred leds, which were wired with three switches to control them. One for footboard to light up as a night light, second for the headboard so the whole room lights up(visible from down the street), and the third one for white leds to read by.
We also decided that something needed to be put in place in the footboard that would give the bed some character. I took 3/4" plexiglass and laminated to 1/8" green plexiglass to form a giant 'C' for his first initial. Needless to say he loves it.
